PROJECT SMEs GO ONLINE
Interregional cooperative e-economy and e-learning space for SMEs 
The project SMEs GO ONLINE is being implemented in Varazdin County from September 2007 until end of August 2008. The value of the project is 120.506,50 EUR from which 74% represents EU financial support from the PHARE 2006 program. The remaining 26% of project Finance is co-fonded by Varazdin County. The project leader in Croatia is Varazdin County and in Slovenia CIMRS - (Center for Interdisciplinary and Multidisciplinary Research and Studies) of the University of Maribor. The other project partners are ZRS Bistra Ptuj - Scientific Research Centre Bistra Ptuj and Economy Chamber of Slovenia. The aim of the SMEs GO ONLINE project is to raise the competitiveness SMEs by developing their computer skills and by offering them e-business knowledge through highly effective e-seminars. Also, the project will raise the awareness of the benefits of ICT business use by SMEs. 31 seminars have been held and 328 small and medium entrepreneurs have been trained in Varaždin County, Croatia and 357 entrepreneurs have been trained in Slovenia. Training seminars are delivered in two modules. First module is on Computer Literacy and second module is on E-business. Each seminar includes 40 hour training (16 hour in person and 24 hour online). Training sessions are held in small groups; composed of about 15 people. Training packages have been developed and adjusted to the specific needs of SMEs and translated to Croatian. All materials are available on an e-platform that is highly interactive and multilingual and can be accessed via Internet (http://smes.uni-mb.si). To sustain the main project activities and seminars for SMEs, after the project after implementation period, the Varazdin County Development Agency will organize seminars starting this autumn. The seminars will include practical solutions that will give participants the appropriate know-how to develop e-business enterprises. - So far I've attended several courses about information technology. This one was the best!
